A scientific poster usually includes multiple figures. Figures can include charts, graphs, diagrams, and images. Figures should be balanced between poster sections and be high-quality/high-resolution. A title/label and brief caption should also accompany each figure.

Best Practices

  1. Review submission guidelines before creating your poster.
  2. Set the poster size. The most common size is 36" H X 47" W.
  3. Each section should be no more than 200-400 words.
  4. Select simple fonts like Arial or Times New Roman.
  5. Standard font sizes:
    • Title = 40-120pt
    • Sections Headings = 30-40pt
    • Text = 20-30pt
  6. Graphics, photos, graphs, and tables should be meaningful and high-quality.
