How to share a desktop EndNote Library with a collaborator
Directions apply to EndNote 21

- Open your EndNote library on your desktop
- File, Share
- Enter the person's email address
- Choose Read Only or Read & Write
- Close
How to accept a shared library (as a collaborator):
- Click on Accept Invitation
- You will be asked to login to EndNote.com. Login
- Once logged in, open your desktop EndNote and select File, Open Shared Library
- Select the email address of the shared library. A new library window will open.
- You can tell which library you're in by looking in the upper-right hand corner of your library. The email of the sharer will be displayed there.

How to use the shared library in Word
- In Word, go to Insert Citation, Select Citation.
- A pop-up window will show references in your open library.
- Select the reference you wish to insert and choose Insert
- Note: If you have more than one EndNote Library open, Insert Citation will search all open libraries.
