Unavailable Due to Embargo

Your manuscript may not appear in PMC because the (*Method A) journal in which it's published applies an embargo to its papers. The NIH Public Access Policy allows journals to apply an embargo for up to 12 months. Check PMC's List of Journals for your journal. The journal record will indicate whether it applies an embargo to papers (see Image 1). If your manuscript is published in a journal that applies an embargo, it will become available in PMC when the embargo expires.

Please be aware that a manuscript under embargo doesn't mean it hasn't been assigned a PMCID. Check your My Bibliography for the publication and its PMCID. If your eRA Commons account is linked to your My NCBI account, the My Bibliography tool will display the compliance status of each publication and compliant publications will display a PMCID.

Unavailable Due to Journal Agreement Changes

Your manuscript may not appear in PMC because the journal in which it's published ended its agreement to deposit manuscripts on behalf of authors. Check the list of Method A journals to determine the status of the journal's agreement with PMC. If there is a date listed in the End date column and the manuscript was accepted for publication after this date, another submission method (B-D) must be used (see Image 2).
