The library suspects that this issue is related to the update to new document templates (i.e., Common Forms) on January 25, 2026. To troubleshoot this issue, see our recommendations below. If these tips do not resolve the issue, contact the NLM/NCBI Help Desk. Please be aware that Help Desk response times are slower than usual due to a high volume of cases.

  • If you are a Delegate, make sure you are working in the correct faculty account (screenshot).
  • If you are a Delegator, make sure the correct ORCID ID is connected to your NCBI account. You can confirm this information in your NCBI Account Settings. 
  • When creating a new document, select a Document type with "Common Form" in the title (screenshot).
  • When creating a new document, do not select an existing document as a Data source. Instead, choose an external source (e.g., ORCID) or start with a blank document (you can copy/paste into the narrative fields of the blank document) (screenshot).
