Find it via EndNote

EndNote's Find Full text feature attempts to locate full text files on the Web by using data stored in the references. If EndNote finds the files, it downloads and attaches them to the references. Be aware that most full text research articles are not freely available on the Web, so this feature is limited.

UT MD Anderson employees can optimize the Find Full text feature by adding the library's custom access links to their EndNote library's Preferences. These links give EndNote access to the Research Medical Library's subscriptions.

  1. In the EndNote desktop application, go to the Edit menu and Select Preferences.
  2. Navigate to the Find Full Text section.
  3. Mark all available boxes and enter the following links in their respective fields. Click the OK button when you have entered the links.
  • OpenURL Path: https://thslc-mdanderson.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/view/uresolver/01TEXASHEALTH_MDANDERSON/openurl?
  • Authenticate with URL: https://login.elibrary.mdanderson.org/login?url=

Next, you must authenticate EndNote into the Research Medical Library.

  1. In the EndNote desktop application, go to the References menu and Select Find Full Text > Authenticate.

  2. A Find Full Text Login window will open. If prompted, enter your UT MD Anderson credentials. If there is no prompt for credentials, click the Continue button.

On Demand

Users can manually invoke the Find Full Text feature any time by highlighting a reference (or multiple references) and clicking the PDF icon. Users can also right-click on reference(s) and select Find Full text.
