Q. How do I link my ORCiD to my eRA Commons account?

Beginning on May 25, 2025 all senior and key personnel will be required to link their ORCID to their eRA Commons account.

1. Start by logging into your eRA Commons account

2. Go to the Personal Profile section of your account

3. Locate the "Create or connect your ORCID iD" link (located on the top, left of the Personal Profile page)

4. You will be routed to the ORCID platform - login and authorize NIH access to your profile

NOTE: If you get an error from eRA Commons when attempting to link your ORCID ID, contact the eRA Service Desk. This error occurs when you have two eRA Commons accounts, and the other account is already linked to the ORCID ID. The ORCID ID can be linked to only one Commons account.
