Beginning on May 25, 2025 the SciENcv tool must be used to complete all Common Forms and an ORCID must be provided in the persistent identifier section of the new Common Forms.
The My NCBI account, which features the SciENcv tool, lets you link your ORCID and use its record to populate Common Forms. The link can be established by signing into My NCBI via ORCID or by adding ORCID to the account manually.
Manual Instructions

Sign-in to My NCBI. Choose the Login.gov option.

Click on your username located on the top, right of the page

Select Account settings

Go to the Linked Accounts section

Click on Add account

Search for "Orcid" and select it

You will be routed to the ORCID platform to login

You will be re-routed back to My NCBI and your ORCID account will be linked to your My NCBI account
